Salim Hassan’s Kings Buffet is a large, family-friendly multi-cuisine restaurant that focuses mainly on buffet dining. It is well known in Kochi for its unlimited buffet concept and is often chosen for group outings, family dinners and small celebrations.
Location & Accessibility:
The restaurant is easy to locate and accessible from main roads. It suits people coming in groups as well as families with elders and children. Parking is available nearby, but during peak hours it can feel tight and slightly chaotic, so reaching a bit early makes life calmer.
Ambience & Seating:
The seating area is spacious with a banquet-style setup. Tables are arranged to handle big crowds, and the environment feels lively, sometimes bordering on noisy during weekends and dinner hours. If you prefer quiet dining, this is not your meditation hall. But if you like energetic, busy restaurants, you will feel at home.
Food & Buffet Spread:
The highlight is the buffet. It includes a wide range of starters, main course items, breads, rice varieties, salads, desserts and live counters.
The spread mainly focuses on Indian and Arabian flavours with some Chinese influence.
– Starters usually include grilled, fried and tandoor items
– Main course includes both veg and non-veg curries, rice varieties and breads
– Desserts are simple but satisfying, including pastries, puddings and ice creams
Taste is generally good and consistent. The food is not gourmet-level fancy, but it is filling, flavourful and suits most palates. The biggest advantage is variety, especially for families where everyone wants something different.
Service:
Service is fast and functional. Staff keep refilling counters quickly, especially during peak buffet hours. They are responsive, though not overly attentive. It feels more like efficient crowd management than fine-dining hospitality, which actually makes sense for a buffet place handling large volumes.
Best Time to Visit:
Weekday lunch hours are the best time if you want a calmer dining experience and quicker access to buffet counters. Weekends and evenings are very crowded, and waiting time is common.
We had booked a buffet for a Birthday celebration and the staff were really cooperative always there at your service.
Coming to the food they had a good spread of Rice, Breads, curries, salads and desserts. Its hard to find authentic Kerala food on a buffet - Ney Pattiri, Kerala style fish curry, Naadan chicken Pepper roast, Malabar chicken Dum Biriyani that too with leghorn chicken all of it was really delicious I really loved the Food and the ambience. Dessert section amazed me as it had dishes which I have never seen else where, the Beet root halwa and Paal payasam with broken wheat both of which tasted awesome.
Talking about the ambience the place was well arranged neat & clean with picturesque interiors.
Highly recommended for those who are looking for a buffet with Kerala cuisine.
